Tracy Hind - Consultant

Tracy is a highly skilled youth and community development consultant with over 20 years' experience of working with young people and community groups.

Her experience includes developing and delivering non-formal education programmes in schools and youth projects, and facilitating long term group work programmes including work with young mothers, young care leavers, young disabled people, young offenders and young lesbian, gay and bisexual people. She has worked extensively with community groups, developing and supporting meaningful engagement and participation, from member recruitment to skills development, to functioning as autonomous groups. This includes long term community development work with Sure Start and Children’s Centres in Haringey, developing parent participation and working with refugee and asylum seeker groups to set up inclusive initiatives. She has worked extensively in the fields of renewal and regeneration in both the statutory and voluntary sector.

Examples of her most recent consultancy contracts for WSA include:

  • developing and writing successful fundraising bids for Kid City Ltd
  • undertaking a Play Needs Assessment of children 8-13 for Croydon Play Service
  • writing a children’s version of the Play Needs Assessment for Croydon Play Service
  • writing a Mapping Report for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Community Development Team: Mental Health, Black and Minority Ethnic communities

Tracy’s skills and experience in youth and community work also include:

  • project development and project management
  • undertaking community participatory research
  • evaluation of youth and community initiatives
  • development of resources and toolkits

She is a skilled and experienced facilitator and trainer and is an Approved Trainer for Brighton and Hove City Council where she delivers training on Equalities Awareness on the Workforce Development Programme. She is an Associate Consultant for UK Youth where she co-ordinates the Young Mothers' Learning programme and delivers training programmes for professionals on work with young mothers, work with girls and young women, equality and diversity. 

Tracy is also an Associate Tutor at Sussex University where she teaches on the Foundation Degree in Community Development.
