Bruce Grove, Earlsmead and Welbourne Children's Centres Community Mapping
WSA Community Consultants were commissioned to undertake a piece of community mapping work for three areas in Haringey linked to phase 2 Children’s Centre development.
One was a link area between two Children’s Centres and the other two were new Children’s Centres. This work included training and working with a group of ten parents who were community researchers and six of whom spoke key community languages. The contribution of the researchers in undertaking research questionnaires and supporting focus group facilitation was valuable to the projects success.The research involved an action learning approach and focused on key needs of parents and carers of families with children under 5 in the areas within the context of Haringey’s core offer for Children’s Centres.
The research used both semi structured questionnaires and focus groups to gather information. This was analysed by WSA Community Consultants and two full reports were produced with key recommendations, one for the Bruce Grove area and one for Earlsmead and Welbourne areas combined.
