Pembury House Children’s Centre Community Mapping

WSA Community Consultants were commissioned to undertake a community mapping project for a phase one Children’s Centre development in Haringey, Pembury House.

This work involved:

• the recruitment and training of a team of 12 community researchers, many of whom spoke key community languages
• development of research tools
• planning of a fieldwork timetable
• Interviews with key service providers
• Interviews with parents and carers
• Focus groups with parents and carers
•  Use of participatory appraisal and other participation techniques with parents and carers
• Analysis of data into a final report
• Presentation of data to key members of the Local Planning Group
• Co-ordination of a conference for local stakeholders to disseminate findings and hold workshops on implementation of recommendations
