The Individual Needs of Teenage Parents Including Childcare
WSA Community Consultants undertook some in depth qualitative research for Sure Start Plus in Lambeth and Lambeth Early Years Childcare and Development Partnership.
The research, which formed part of the Lambeth Teenage Pregnancy Strategy, looked at "The Individual Needs of Teenage Parents Including Childcare".The project included a mapping exercise looking at services working with teenage parents in Lambeth, a survey of a random group of childcare providers around issues in working with teenage parents, 16 in depth interviews with teenage mothers, 4 in depth interviews with teenage fathers and 5 in depth interviews with parents of teenage parents.
The study developed a range of issues and was able to highlight many recommendations for the service development feeding into evaluation and best practice.
